Opening this afternoon's concert is the Boise Junior High Honor Orchestra led by Phyllis Saunders. Then, the Boise Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition winner, Abrie Church will dazzle you in a performance of the third movement of Mendelssohn's First Piano Concerto. Maestro Deanna Tham and the Boise Philharmonic Youth Orchestra close the concert with Tchaikovsky's challenging, very personal 4th Symphony. This symphony will move the listener through its foreboding opening, song-like and playful middle movements, and end in a triumphant celebration.
