March 17 - Burt Lancaster is a hard-working armored truck driver with a fatal attraction to his ex-wife in this tragic 1949 film. They develop a plan to rob his truck, conspiring with her gangster husband.

The term Film Noir was coined by French film critics to describe the darker, more cynical crime melodramas produced in the 1940s and 1950s by Hollywood directors such as Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, and Billy Wilder. Film Noir generally combines a cinematographic style and story line marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace. The films in the series were selected from famed Film Noir writer Eddie Muller's topic pick list.

Complementary movie style popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available. For more information about the program, visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org/calendar, or call 972-8300. The Library! at Cole & Ustick is part of the Boise Public Library system, and is located at 7557 W. Ustick Road.
