Finding Your Ancestors--Genealogy Series

Want to learn more about your family's history? The Boise Public Library and the Idaho State Archives are partnering to bring you a monthly genealogy series exploring the many resources available for finding your ancestors. Steve Barrett, a reference archivist at the State Archives, will lead the six classes.

Sessions are scheduled for the second Wednesday each month through June, and are held in the Main Library's third floor Marion Bingham Room from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The following topics will be discussed:

January 14 - Interviewing Family and Finding Ancestors in Federal Censuses
February 11 - Finding Ancestors in Federal and Local Land Records
March 11 - Finding Ancestors in Local Court Records
April 8 - Finding Ancestors in Probate and Estate Records
May 13 - Finding Ancestors in Immigration and Naturalization Records
June 10 - Looking for Word of Ancestors Nationwide and on the World-Wide Web
