Description:
An Archaeology & Historic Preservation Month Program

Boise Public Library invites you to join Architectural Historian Jamee Fiore for an overview of resources available for researching historic properties. Attendees will receive lists of sources, and learn where to find them and how to use them. Fiore will be at the Main Library on Wednesday, May 4, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the third floor Marion Bingham Room.

The program is presented in partnership with the Idaho State Historical Archives as part of the May 2016 Archaeology & Historic Preservation Month Program Series. This year, history lovers of all ages and backgrounds are gearing up for the 50th anniversary of the passage of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). The Act has transformed the face of communities from coast to coast as it established the legal framework and incentives to preserve historic buildings, landscapes, and archaeology.

Events are planned throughout Idaho during May and cover topics related to Idaho's history, archaeology, architectural history, and historic preservation. Visit www.history.idaho.gov/preservation-month to see other programming around Idaho.

For more information about this program, call 972-8255 or visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org/calendar. The Main Library is located at 715 South Capitol Boulevard in downtown Boise.
