Description:
University of Idaho graduate student and USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station biological technician Matt Fisk will discuss various ongoing and past restoration research projects across the Great Basin and beyond. Topics will include an overview of common local Great Basin native flora, the Great Basin Native Plant Project, the native plant materials development process, post-fire restoration techniques, and the Seeds of Success program. He will also explore cold hardiness accumulation and loss with the local subshrub species Eriogonum umbellatum (sulphur-flower buckwheat) across space and time.
