Description:
Great Basin Native Plant Project
Part of the Library! at Hillcrest "Conversations" Series

Join the Library! at Hillcrest on Saturday, August 29, for a look at the Great Basin Native Plant Project, presented by Dr. Francis Kilkenny. The program is scheduled from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the library's Lemhi Room.

The Great Basin Native Plant Project, a joint effort of the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, seeks to increase the development and use of native plant materials for restoration. Kilkenny, a Research Biologist with the U.S. Forest Service, is the project leader. He will discuss efforts to restore native plant communities of the Great Basin and the Intermountain West in the face of increasing threats to arid ecosystems. A discussion will follow the presentation.

The program is part of the library's Conversations series, offered each month to promote discussion on a current event or topic. The Library! at Hillcrest is a branch of Boise Public Library, and is located in the Hillcrest Shopping Center at Orchard Street and Overland Road. For more information, phone 972-8340 or visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org/calendar.
