Description:
Drawing, Animation & Programming Classes at the Library for Grades 2-12

Kids in grades 2-12 can learn JavaScript and animation in Boise Public Library's Summer of Code series. The weekly course of videos, fun challenges and projects is based on the Khan Academy's Intro to JS: Drawing and Animation course. Participants will learn programming while creating drawings, animations, and even getting outside!

Classes are offered at the Main Library on Mondays, June 6-July 11, 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Main Library's Marion Bingham Room on third floor. (No class on Monday, July 4.) The Library! at Collister is offering the series on Tuesdays, June 7-July 12, 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Sycamore Room. Register online for either course at www.boisepubliclibrary.org/calendar.

The course is suitable for students who have never tried programming as well as those with previous coding experience. Students will have access to coaches for two hours each week as they work through the course at their own pace. Some computers will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own when possible.

For more information, call 972-8255 (Main Library) or 972-8320 (Library! at Collister). The Main Library is located at 715 South Capitol Boulevard in downtown Boise. The Library! at Collister is located at 724 West State Street.
