Description:
Idaho Author Diane Raptosh to Appear at Boise Public Library
Acclaimed author and poet will read from her new book, "Human Directional"

Acclaimed Idaho author Diane Raptosh will be at the Main Library Sept. 21 to read from her new book of poems, "Human Directional."

The Thursday night program, titled "The Space of the Thinkable," is a must-see for poetry lovers, aspiring authors, adults, and older teens. In Raptosh's own words, her latest work "turns gender and identity into a trapeze act instead of something stable and fixed."

"There will be Big-Top Circus stuff going on behind the tent flaps: hybrid literary forms, Q&A as poetry, flash essays, and more," Raptosh says. "You won't want to miss it."

A long-time Idaho resident, Raptosh served as the Idaho Writer-in-Residence from 2013 to 2016, and was Boise Poet Laureate in 2013. She holds the Eyck-Berringer Endowed Chair in English at The College of Idaho, where she teaches literature and creative writing.

The reading is open to the public, and no prior registration is required. For more information, call 208-972-8255, or visit boisepubliclibrary.org/calendar.
