Class Description:
October skies are filled with geometry. The Summer Triangle, the Great Square of Pegasus, and line of the Milky Way fill the evening sky. These shapes will be joined by some fish, a dolphin, and a swan. During the first session of this two-day course, you will spend time in the planetarium to learn how to find these constellations and how to recognize asterisms. During the second session you will be both inside and outside. The inside portion includes a discussion of stellar evolution as well as the science behind the October deep-sky objects. The outside portion will be spent finding these and many other astronomical objects in the night sky. Dress warm!
