Writing Creative Family & Local History, Genealogy Writing Workshop Series

Boise Public Library's monthly family and local history writing series continues, offered in partnership with the Idaho State Historical Archives. The series focuses on writing factual, engaging family and local histories, and is presented by Steve Barrett, an Idaho State Historical Society archivist and family history and local records specialist.

The free workshops are held on the second Thursday each month, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Main Library Marion Bingham Room. They're appropriate for researchers and writers of all levels, and do not require reservations.

On November 12, the workshop will explore, Family Story to Historical Narrative, Character and Setting in Local History on December 10; and Our Ancestors as "Round" Characters on January 14. The workshops wrap-up on February 11 with Writing Fiction Based on Historical Fact.
