Writing Workshops with Kate: ages 11-15
1:30 PM The Library! at Cole & Ustick
Description:
Whether they’re beginning or advanced writers, children will enjoy exploring the world of writing with author Kate Riley. This summer, the Library! at Cole & Ustick offers a series of two-week writing workshops for 11-15 year olds.
Riley uses a wide range of interactive tools to help kids develop their imagination, discover their stories and become more open and adventurous as writers. She has a genuine passion for encouraging writers of all ages to discover and trust their unique voice and gain self-confidence.
Classes will be held in the Bitterbrush Room on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m., and are appropriate for all levels and genres of writing. Due to limited seating, registration is required. Participants may register for one, two, three or all four two-week workshops.
Remaining workshops include: Drawing on Language, June 17 & 24; Flash Fiction on July 8 & 15; and finally, Creative Fiction vs. Non-fiction, on July 22 & 29.
Kate Riley facilitates ongoing weekly writing groups and consults privately in Boise. She is a free-lance writer, whose writings include short stories, essays and articles, as well as a book she co-authored with her mother—The Green Velvet Journals; A Mother/Daughter Journey of Healing, Love, & Trust.
Please call 570-6900 to register, or for more information; or, visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org. The Library! at Cole & Ustick is located in the Library Plaza Shopping Center at North Cole & Ustick Roads.
