Description:
Finn Riggins headlines United States of Indie Rock on First Thursday July 2

Three bands. Five bucks. God Bless America.

Boise's Independence Day weekend festivities will light up early with the United States of Indie Rock concert Live at the Linen during First Thursday. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise's Linen District. $5 at the door. All ages. Beer and wine available (ID required).

Experimental indie-pop trio Finn Riggins headlines the three-band bill. In addition to maintaining a busy national touring schedule, the band is putting the finishing touches on its second full-length, Vs Wilderness, which will be released nationwide this fall on Portland indie label Tender Loving Empire. Visit www.myspace.com/finnriggins.

The United States of Indie Rock lineup is rounded out by Low-Fi and The Very Most.

Only three years young, Low-Fi is poised to break out of the Boise indie scene. Since releasing its critically-acclaimed debut album, Where You Are, in 2007, the trio's punchy, melodic guitar attack has been heard on college radio stations in the United States, Canada and Europe. The Very Most is the nom de plume of Jeremy Jensen, who fills out the band with a rotating cast of friends. Currently operating as a five-piece, The Very Most delivers a catchy, slightly off-kilter brand of indie-pop influenced by the likes of the Beach Boys, Built to Spill and Belle and Sebastian. The second Very Most album, Congratulations Forever, was released to rave reviews in 2008. Visit www.myspace.com/theverymost.
