Manufactured Home Park Resident Rights

Description:
Knowledge is power, know your rights. As the market changes, sometimes the stability of the homes within the manufactured parks change as well. Manufactured home park residents may at some time have had to cope with the manufactured home park owners selling the land that their homes are on. This can leave residents in a difficult situation, having to find a new place for their home or even a new home altogether. According to Boise State University, since 2001, there have been over 1,300 evictions in Boise alone. To help inform residents of their legal rights and what options are available to displaced residents, the Garden City Library will be presenting “Manufactured Home Park Resident Rights: A Panel Discussion and Q&A” on May 6th, 2008 from 6 – 8 pm. Garden City’s Manufactured Home Park ordinance will be explained and affordable housing options will also be discussed.
