J.A. Jance
7:00 PM Boise Public Library
Description:
Boise Public Library and The Rediscovered Bookshop are pleased to host an author visit and book signing with best-selling author J.A. Jance! She will speak at the Main Library in an after-hours event at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30.
Jance will be in Boise to promote her newest book, Queen of the Night, published by Harper-Collins, and scheduled for release on July 27. Her books have more than 15 million copies in print, and consistently appear on national bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal.
Jance is the Top 10 New York Times bestselling author of the J. P. Beaumont series, the Joanna Brady series, the Ali Reynolds series, and three stand-alone thrillers featuring the Walker family. Queen of the Night is the fourth in the Walker series. Dedicated to the late Tony Hillerman, it is a complex, intricately woven story that is both thriller and a moving family saga.
Her first Walker novel, Hour of the Hunter, was inspired by a personal experience. Jance spent several years teaching and living on the Tohono O’odham reservation west of Tucson, where she and her husband were unknowing targets of a serial killer who was apprehended before he could strike. The culture and history of the Tohono O’odham people and the stark beauty of the desert are woven into all four Walker novels, including Queen of the Night.
Jance is an avid crusader for many causes including the American Cancer Society, Gilda's Club, the Humane Society, the YMCA and the Girl Scouts. A lover of animals, she has a golden retriever, Daphne, named for author Daphne du Maurier. She and her husband split their time between homes in Washington State and Arizona.
