Roberta and Katrina Pearce and Christie Cremer present the Gospel Hour in two programs on Saturday, March 13 at 2:00 & 7:30 pm at the Nampa Civic Center.
Featured are the Jr. Jammers Fiddlers, a group of 70 young people ages 5-18 led by Pearce. This group is most noted for the Country Harvest Hoedown, a variety country music show held each November with sell out crowds. The Jr. Jammers will be joined by Harmony Corral, a group of 60 singers ages 3-18, under the direction of Christie Cremer. These two groups will open the program with bluegrass versions of the favorite hymns What a Friend We Have in Jesus and Peace Like a River. The Jr. Jammers will continue thr program with the country rendition of the hymns Blessed Assurance and Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. In keeping with tradition of past Gospel Hours, the Jammers will fiddle The Glory Train, a gospel version of the Orange Blossom Special.
2010 graduating seniors will be featured on a country version of the hymn Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us. The graduates are Sophia Aguilar, Hannah Collier, Casey Cundall, Marissa Dickey, Jared Germain, Maribeth Hegland, Alex Jarratt, Kelby Sommer, Amanda Trick, Drew and Mary Zimmerman.
The highlight for these programs for many are the Little Hoedowner fiddlers and Harmony Corral's youngest singers. These adorable youngsters ages 2-10 will perform Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam, Jesus Loves the Little Children, and This Little Light of Mine. Families featured at this program will be the Loucks family of Homedale, the Curtis family of Nampa, and the well known bluegrass band, the Jeffries Express of Wilder, the Zimmerman family of Boise, and the Seward Family of Parma.
Fiddle instructors Shanna Fehrs and Katrina Nicolayeff will round out the first half fiddling a new arrangement of the old favorite Back Up and Push.
After intermission the Jr. Jammers and Harmony Corral will present two contemporary praise songs Garments of Praise and Indescribable. Ther Jr. Jammers will continue with a Celtic arrangement of the hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful and The Voice featuring Senior Alex Jarratt.
Sisters Fara and Sekayi Sumbureru of Caldwell will present the Grammy award winning Point of Grace song How You Live.
Graduating Senior Maribeth Hegland, also a fiddle and voice instructor, will close the program with an inspirational song about heaven entitled No More Night.
