Description:
Experience innovative and enthralling excitement as Idaho Dance Theatre
continues its 19th Season with the Spring concert “Joy Ride”. “Joy
Ride” premieres new works by Marla Hansen in collaboration with world
famous artist, Saul Bernstein in a work that uses Saul’s unique
painting techniques on stage. Carl Rowe presents his newest work to a
commissioned original score by Boise composer, Jim Cockey. The music
will be performed live on stage by the Lagroise Trio. Showcasing Boise
talent will be an exciting, enthralling experience for all the audience
members. Loosely inspired by Homer's "The Odyssey", this dance looks at
the universal themes of journey, labor, illicit love, and homecoming.
Rowe's second dance on the program will be a definite joy ride with
exuberant dancing to intriguing percussion sounds.
All performances are at the BSU Special Events Center (Student Union
Building). Parking is available for a nominal fee in the garage at the
