Description:
“Get Your Hands Dirty: Give Back for Earth Day” is the theme of this year’s Idaho EarthFest Day of Service scheduled for April 19, 2008 from 9 am – 12:30 pm.
Whether you’d like to clean up along the Boise River or Oregon Trail, help community gardens get ready for spring planting, or work on restoration planting close to Boise or near Indian Valley, there is something for just about everyone to do.
Project details and registration are available online at www.idahoearthfest.org. You’ll also find a list of other Earth Day-related events going on in April and May in the Treasure Valley.
Idaho EarthFest 2008 is organized by The Wilderness Society, Idaho Rivers United, Sierra Club, Boise High TREE Club and Idaho Conservation League, with help from Idaho Earth Institute, community volunteer Laura Hammond and Jody Hull, BSU intern coordinator.
Volunteers receive free coffee from Dawson’s Downtown, juice, bagels and a CFL light bulb, and will be entered in a drawing for free prizes donated by generous businesses like REI, The Flicks and Bogus Basin.
