Description:
Join us for a lecture with Idaho State Archaeologist, Dr. Ken Reid, who will speak about the Bear River Massacre. In late January 1863, a Federal force attacked a winter village of Shoshones on Bear River in southeastern Idaho, which left hundreds of Indians and more than a score of soldiers dead or dying, the village sacked, and the seeds of an interpretive controversy planted.
