INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED AUTHOR ALICIA BORINSKY TO GIVE LECTURE, READING AT BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY
Internationally acclaimed author Alicia Borinsky will give a
lecture and reading at 12:15 p.m. April 1 in the Student Union Hatch C
Ballroom at Boise State University. Her appearance is free and open to
the public and sponsored by the Associated Students of Boise State
University, the Cultural Center, International Programs, the Boise
State Spanish Club and the Department of Modern Languages and
Literatures.
Born in Argentina, Borinsky is the author of “All-Night Movie,”
“Mean Woman,” “Dreams of the Abandoned Seducer” and “The Collapsible
Couple,” among other literary works. Her presentation will focus on
Argentina’s literary tradition in relation to her own creative work,
and she will read selections from her 2007 bilingual collection of
poetry, “Golpes bajos/Low Blows.”
Borinsky is the director of the Writing in the Americas program at
Boston University. She has held visiting professorships at Harvard
University and at Washington University in St. Louis.
