What the World Needs Now...
5:00 PM Boise State Public Radio Offices
Description:
Treasure Valley Artists' Alliance announces a new exhibition: "What the World Needs Now..."
Opening Valentine's Day, Thursday, February 14th, at the offices of Boise State Public Radio, 220 E. ParkCenter Blvd., in Boise. The exhibition features over 45 works from 39 alliance artists.
In 1965, when songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David offered LOVE as the clear and simple answer, they likely never imagined the current state of our world. In the face of economic downturn or apocalyptic visions, will LOVE prevail? Is the answer found in the Greek distillation of LOVE into the four streams of Agape, Philia, Storge, and Eros? Can LOVE truly be the remedy, the full-proof panacea for not just a broken heart but something universal?
The artists in this exhibition show us what they think the world needs at this singular moment in time!
Join us for the Opening Reception, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Thursday, February 14th. During the opening, many of the artists will be on hand to discuss their work in an informal setting. Also on the evening of the opening, TVAA has reserved the parking lot so that visitors do not need to worry about BSU parking restrictions in front of the building.
"What the World Needs Now..." continues through April 25th, open weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
