Amateur Radio Technician Class

A free "Technician" Amateur Radio class will be offered at Capital High School, Room 114, in Boise from 7 pm to 9 pm starting Thursday February 7, 2013. The class will be held each consecutive Thursday through March 21. The Gordon West Technician Study Manual is $22 and the FCC Exam at the last class is $14.
According to instructor Jake Gier, Lewis & Clark Trail Hilltop DX Society Amateur Radio Club in Nampa, "This school year, Canyon Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA) students will be speaking directly to astronauts at the International Space Station via Amateur Radio. Obtaining an FCC license now may offer the opportunity to participate in that program."
