Description:
On average, between 600-800 students and alumni have attended past Career Fairs at Boise State.
How are you going to stand out from 600 other candidates that recruiters will meet at the fair? Preparation before the fair is key!
Plan to attend one of our Career Fair Prep workshops prior to the actual Career Fair that is being held on Wednesday, February 24th in the SUB Jordan Ballroom from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Topics to be covered in the workshops are:
-appropriate attire/grooming
-importance of researching companies before the fair
-preparing a list of relevant questions to ask employers
-updating a resume
-how to sell yourselves to employers at a career fair/develop your “pitch”
Additional topics to discuss:
-Why some representatives do not take resumes and instead encourage applicants to apply online
-How to approach a company/tips for how to begin talking with an employer at the career fair table and during networking opportunities
Remember to bring a copy of your resume because the workshop will end with personal resume critiques.
