Friday, August 29th - Free Outdoor Concert - Americana on Tour 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. ~ Grove Plaza Americana "On Tour", A Celebration of America’s Music, is American Roots Music presented in a production show focusing on Rockin Roll, Rockin Blues, and Rockin Country, with a little Bluegrass and Zydeco thrown in fun. The show features Jimmy Bivens, Tracy Underwood, Kevin Sam and Kayleigh Jack and an All-Star rhythm section of Brian Palmer, Jason Graesa, Troy Nickell, and Jef Torp. Americana Music is described by The Americana Music Association as being based on the traditions of country music, while the musical model can be traced back to the Elvis Presley marriage of Hillbilly and R&B that birthed rock n' roll. The show is a high-energy mix of covers and original music. The eight (8) vocalists weave intricate harmonies as they play 14 instruments between them. The group performs songs from such diverse artists as Rosanne Cash, Johnny Rivers, Doobie Brothers, Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash, Led Belly, Ricky Van Shelton, Susan Tedeshi, Deanna Carter, Bill Monroe, BB King, John Hyatt and others. Local food and Local wine & beer available for purchase.
Saturday, August 30th - Expanded City Harvest Market 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. ~ 8th Street Corridor, Grove Plaza & Basque Block Come downtown and enjoy an expanded Capital City Public Market, taking place along the 8th Street Corridor on the Grove Plaza and on the Basque Block. Enjoy additional vendors and the peak-of-the-season produce as well as a wide variety of artisan wares and live entertainment. Free Family Fun! Drop by for Arts for Kids walk-up art activities on the Grove and the Basque Block. Two performing arts stages will feature local talent such as the Korean Dancers, The Mark Levine Quartet, The JB Duo and Full Tilt Belly Dance.
Saturday, August 30th - City Harvest Dinner Benefitting Friends of the Market, Think Boise First and Arts for Kids
6:00p.m. Until 10:00 p.m. ~ Grove Plaza Premium Seating for festivities, Music by the Ben Burdick Trio, dinner prepared on-stage, by local chefs using fresh ingredients from Treasure Valley Farms, Silent auction featuring the best of the market, Live auction of specialty items, wine dinners and original artwork. Tickets: $100 for 5 courses with wine pairings, $50 for three courses, buy your own beverage. Sunday, August 31st - City Harvest Art Show & Sale 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. ~ Grove Plaza Come downtown on Sunday and shop and enjoy the best local art & artisanmarket featuring photography, painting, glass, jewelry, specialty foods and much much more. Live music all day from Dan Costello and The Middle Income Household Band. Come down, bring the family, enjoy the fountain, the music and the art!
