LIVE AT THE LINEN presents DAVID ANDREWS AND THE CATS Friday, Feb. 15

One-night-only engagement at the LINEN BUILDING features Andrews performing old and new songs with a full band while sharing stories behind his music

Limited theater-style seating available for this intimate performance

Live at the Linen presents David Andrews and the Cats at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise's Linen District. $15 in advance or at the door; advance tickets available at brownpapertickets.com. Limited seating available. All ages, full bar (ID required), Pie Hole pizza. Plenty of free, off-street parking is available at the Linen Building.

Join Andrews and a notable cast of veteran musicians from Portland and Boise for an intimate post-Valentine's Day evening of songs and stories, including rarely-performed material from his extensive catalog. Limited theater-style seating will be available for this special one-night-only engagement.

"So many of my listeners ask me where my songs come from and what they're about," says Andrews. "I thought it would be an interesting addition to a show to talk a little bit more about the songs' history and where they came from. I'm very excited to be visiting so much of my more intimate material that typically stays off the set list because they rarely seem suitable for some of the bigger venues and stages that we typically play."
ABOUT DAVID ANDREWS

A national music scene veteran of more than 20 years, David Andrews (davidandrewsband.com) delivers sentimental lyricism with a gritty, yet refined musical style that Performing Songwriter described as "achingly beautiful." He has shared the stage with the likes of Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Jethro Tull, Jimmy Cliff and Train, and recorded with musicians who have played with Wilco, Bob Dylan, Dixie Chicks, Rod Stewart, John Mayer and Jackson Browne.

Andrews first tasted success in 1990 with Calobo, the popular Portland jam band he co-founded and fronted. The group became one of the nation's most successful independent jam bands, earning a solid reputation through relentless touring and building a massive fan base.

As the landscape of the music industry changed with the arrival of the 21st century, the members of Calobo parted ways and splintered into new directions of success. For Andrews, that meant the start of a solo career.

Andrews' second album, Get Me Out of This Place, garnered national radio attention and sent his band on several national tours. By 2004, he was recording with top industry musicians and his records had reached an international audience. While touring behind his fourth album, Everything to Lose, Andrews discovered an affinity for Boise and eventually relocated there in 2005. In 2008, he released Live at the VaC, his first full-length album in nearly four years.
