VISITING ARTISTS BILLIE GRACE LYNN, FRED FENSTER COME TO BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY IN OCTOBER
Accomplished artists Billie Grace Lynn and Fred Fenster will visit
the Boise State University campus and give free lectures during October.
Billie Grace Lynn creates sculptures that are interactive, kinetic
and that engage the viewers’ thought and senses. The Visual Arts Center
will exhibit her large-scale inflatable sculptures from Oct. 16-27 in
Gallery 2, located in the Hemingway Center.
Lynn will give a lecture at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 in Liberal Arts
Building Room 106. Her lecture is free and open to the public, and a
reception will follow at 7:30 p.m. in Gallery 2. Free parking will be
available during the lecture and reception in the Liberal Arts parking
lot. Lynn’s appearance is part of the Visiting Artist and Scholar
Program, which continues with artist Laura Berman at 6 p.m. Nov. 6 in
the Student Union Barnwell Room.
The Fall 2008 Visiting Artist and Scholar Program is sponsored by
the Idaho Commission on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts

Internationally renowned artist Fred Fenster, professor emeritus
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will give a lecture at 7 p.m.
Nov. 1 in the Student Union Farnsworth Room. He also will lead a
three-day, hands-on pewtersmithing workshop Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in the Art
Metals Studio, located in Liberal Arts Building Room 157. To register

The workshop is $350 general, $325 for Idaho Metal Arts Guild members
and $225 for students. A $100 materials fee is included in the
registration cost. Fenster’s appearance is sponsored by the Associated
Students of Boise State University Art Metals Club.
