An Evening with Cleve Jones
7:00 PM
The Egyptian Theatre
Description:
Keeping with our theme of Pride through the Decades this year, we are excited to bring Cleve Jones to Boise for a special speaking engagement and film screening the week before our Pride Festival!
This event at the Egyptian Theatre will center on a special screening of Milk followed by an hour-long speaking
engagement and Q&A with Cleve Jones, the leader of one of the largest advocacy organizations in the United States, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
This event kicks off the official 30th Year of Boise Pride, while reflecting on the 40th Anniversary next year of Harvey Milk’s passing as well the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
"Milk" is the 2008 biopic documenting the life of Harvey Milk, an accomplished gay rights activists and the first openly gay men elected to public office.
We could not think of a better event to discuss our community here in Boise than what got us here from a national level, and the history and activism behind what allows us to celebrate Boise Pride.
This event, generously sponsored by Target and Smirnoff, is an affordable screening with tickets as low as $8 up to VIP options including meet & greet and swag bags. Proceeds fund Boise Pride Festival.
