STEM Camp: Engineering Fairy Tales and Coding

STEM disciplines covered: Game Design, Coding, Environmental Engineering, Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

Camp Description: The first part of this camp will introduce our youngest students to Coding using Scratch. Students will embark on a journey to space and send an astronaut to the moon to defend their moon base from space rocks. At the end of this camp, students will take home their video game home.

In the second part of camp, students will explore a few fairy tales from the point of view of an engineer and engage in activities to investigate solutions for each fairy tale’s obstacles. Students will explore several different areas of engineering. Students will engage with engineering concepts using a hands-on approach to help them better understand the Engineering Design Process.
