Description:
Learn about Monotype: Traces & Tracks

The Library! at Collister invites adults to join Amy Nack for a look at the world of printmaking and the process of trace monotype. Nack is an art educator, local printmaker and owner of Wingtip Press. The three-hour class will be offered twice - first, on Saturday, April 26, at 1:00 p.m., and then again on Saturday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m. Space is limited, so please call 562-4995 or stop by the library to register for your choice of sessions.

Trace Monotype, also known as transfer drawing, is a printmaking technique. Paper is placed on an inky surface and an image is drawn on the back of the paper. When the paper is peeled off, inked lines will appear on the front of the page. A second, negative print can be pulled from the remaining ink. Come and explore the one-of-a-kind variations and techniques that are possible with this seemingly simple process.

For more information, phone 562-4995 or visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org. The Library! at Collister is a branch of Boise Public Library, and is located in the Collister Shopping Center at State Street and Collister.
