Description:
Part of the Library! at Hillcrest "Conversations" Series

Join the Library! at Hillcrest for a discussion on women in politics with Boise State University's Dr. Jaclyn Kettler. Kettler will present information on trends in women's political participation and barriers facing women seeking public office. She will also focus on women in the 2016 election and the candidacy of Secretary Hillary Clinton. The program is scheduled from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, in the library's Lemhi Room.

Kettler, an associate professor of political science, holds a Ph.D. from Rice University and a B.A. from Baker University. Her research focuses on American politics with an emphasis on state politics, political parties and interest groups, campaign finance, and women in politics. She has published research in Political Research Quarterly and The Forum: A Journal of Applied Research in Contemporary Politics. In 2015, she received the Christopher Mooney Dissertation Award for the best dissertation in American state politics completed in the previous year.

The program is part of the library's Conversations series, offered each month to promote discussion on a current event or topic. The Library! at Hillcrest is a branch of Boise Public Library, and is located in the Hillcrest Shopping Center at Orchard Street and Overland Road.
