Hugelkultur!
6:30 PM
Boise Public Library
Description:
Hugelkultur!
Treat your garden to Hugelkultur! Debbie Burris, retired Program Coordinator for the Lewis County Master Gardener and Master Recycler Composter program, will share this centuries-old gardening technique for creating healthy soil. The Library! at Hillcrest will host the program on Wednesday, May 6, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the Lemhi Room. Attendees will also have a follow-up hands-on opportunity to work on a Hugelkultur project at a local community garden.

The Hugelkultur gardener uses readily available materials that often end up in a landfill to create healthy, viable soil which then produces healthy plants. A big advantage of the technique is its ability to capture and hold water, making it available to plants when they need it and reducing the amount of household water required.

For more information about the program, call 972-8340 or visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org/calendar. The Library! at Hillcrest is part of the Boise Public Library system. It's located at 5246 West Overland Road in the Hillcrest Shopping Center in Boise.
