Jefferson Street Counseling and Consulting
Description:
Presented By: Shirley O'Neil and Lorn Adkins
You get a call from the school, again. Your child, who is already beyond the limit for absences, is in the nurse's office, again. You can't leave work again; and yet, you do.So quickly your child has become isolated and alone, even at home. There are panic attacks and cries with every new experience. Friends have stopped calling and now your child is staying all night on the computer because they say they can't sleep.
How real is this scene? Is the anxiety and panic real or is the child faking it?
What is a parent supposed to do?
More and more, schools and parents have children that become so anxious that normal activities become impossible. At The Highly Anxious Child, learn what interventions will help, how a parent can best communicate with the school, and how to decide if a young child needs treatment.
Cost:Free ($5.00 suggested donation)
Registration:Please call the front desk at 385-0888 to register.
