Event celebrates the 13th century poet's written works and philosophy

The public is invited to the Main Library for a celebration of Persian poet Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi. The Sept. 30 event marks what would have been Rumi's 810th birthday. The 13th century poet and philosopher's volume of work continues to be studied and honored to this day.

Longtime admirers as well as newcomers to Rumi's work are invited for an afternoon of poetry, conversation, Persian desserts, and tea, and everyone is welcome to bring a Rumi poem to share.
