Rethinking Idaho Landscapes Horticulture Symposium

Description:
The Idaho Botanical Garden and the University of Idaho continue this popular and important community forum. Speakers provide attendees with examples, tools and information useful for gardening in Idaho. This year’s horticulture symposium will be held at the Mission Aviation Fellowship, 112 N. Pilatus Lane in Nampa. Local and regional experts offer tips for productive, attractive year-round landscapes and recommendations for plants suited for Idaho’s climate and soils. Admission is $30 for Garden Members and U of I Master Gardeners, $40 Non Members. Speakers and topics: David Salman, founder of Santa Fe Greenhouses and Chief Horticulturist of the High Country Gardens mail order catalog—Attracting Songbirds, Hummingbirds, and Pollinating Insects to Your Waterwise Landscape; Peggy Faith, Founder of landscape company Xeric Gardening—Creating a Xeric Landscape and Using Native Plants to Create Habitat; Ariel Agenbroad, Southwest Idaho facilitator of applied research and education in community food systems, urban agriculture, and small farms—Beneficial Insects and the Home Food Gardener: a beautiful friendship.
